The John V. Mesh Memorial Scholarship Fund will be hosting its 2nd Annual Fundraiser, Sporting Clay Shoot on Friday, September 29, 2017, at 1:00 PM at Powder Creek Shooting Park, located at 8601 Monticello Road, Lenexa, KS 66227.

On Saturday, February 25, 2017 the John V. Mesh Memorial Fund made their first donation of $10,000 to the Missouri Department of Conservation, Discover Nature Girls Camp. The Scholarship Fund which was established in 2016 after the death of Kansas City, MO Firefighter John V. Mesh who lost his life at a fire at 2608 Independence Ave., located in Old Northeast part of the city on October 12, 2015.
KCFD Fire Apparatus Operator John Sirna and Jim Mesh, brother of John V. Mesh presented the check to members of the Missouri Department of Conservation at this event which was held at the Kansas City, MO Firefighters Memorial Fountain at 31st and Broadway.
This donation from the John V. Mesh Scholarship Fund will provide girls ages 11-15 the chance to spend a weekend in the woods and learn about nature, hunting, fishing etc for many years. Read more about this event at the Northeast News website.
